Peoples will is more important than everything else: President attests-Video
President Mahinda Rajapaksa left last evening on a six-day visit to New York to participate in the United Nations General Assembly.
He will address the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly, taking place at the U.N. headquarters in New York City this week.
Meanwhile President Mahinda Rajapaksa has issued a communiqué with regard to the UPFA’s victory at the Uva provincial council.
In this message the President said that the massive victory the UPFA achieved was a mandate the people had given for speedily taking the Government’s development programme forward.
President points out in his communiqué that the victory was important for the whole country as well as for Uva.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa who attested that the country’s people’s will was more important than everything else, said that no one would be allowed to suppress people’s requirements.
The President points out in his message further that the people of Uva had vehemently rejected anti-Government vitu-perative and derogatory charges.
It is everyone’s duty to protect the victory jointly achieved by all races.
It is said further in the message issued by President Mahinda Rajapaksa that he offers his homage to the Uva Wellassa people who made the government victorious.
