President at UN Climate conference today; ready to meet Modi after addressing the General Assembly
President Mahinda Rajapaksa who set out to the US to address the UN General Assembly reached New York yesterday at 10.30 p.m. in Sri Lankan time.
The UN Climate conference chaired by General Secretary Ban Ki Moon will begin at 9 tonight, Sri Lankan time.
Presidential spokesman Mohan Samaranayake told our news team that President Mahinda Rajapaksa was scheduled to participate in the UN Climate Conference.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly tomorrow.
The Presidential spokesman said that the President was poised to hold bilateral discussions with a number of foreign State heads before and after his General Assembly address.
The spokesman said further that the President hoped in particular, to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well.
