Parents of a soldier states that he who set out of home to report for duty in the army has gone missing.

Twenty-year old Sanka Gayaan Jayawardhana, a resident of the Magura area in Baduruliya is attached to the Horana, Dombagoda army camp.

He had joined the army an year ago.

Having come home on leave Sankha Gayaan had left home for reporting for duty again on 21st this month.

However Sanka’s mother told our news team that her son had telephoned her saying that some gang had abducted him.

Sankha’s parents have informed the Baduruliya police and the Dombagoda army camp about the incident.

On this occasion an army spokesman had said that Sankha Gayaan Jayawardhana had not reported for duty.

He has noted that due to this, action would be taken with regard to Sankha Gayaan as a soldier who had not reported for duty.

Our news team inquired about the incident from the Baduruliya police.

A Baduruliya police spokesman said that all police stations had been informed about the incident.
