The Norwood police yesterday arrested a principal who sold the government text books provided to school children and a businessman who bought them.
The arrested are the principal of the Dunkel Tamil High School in Norwood which comes under the purview of the Hatton Educational Zone and a businessman.
An area resident has provided a tip off to 119 regarding the incident.
Accordingly the Norwood police have arrested the businessman while transporting the books, by setting up road blocks.
During interrogations the businessman has revealed that he runs an antiques business and the books were provided to him by the principal of the Dunkel Tamil High School.
Police media spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that the seized text books are those used from grade 6 to grade 12 and weighed 400 kilogrammes. Pic by- Ranjith Rajapaksha
