The number of people killed due to adverse weather has risen to 10.

A tragic incident was reported yesterday where 4 persons who were relaxing after having completed their daily task of plucking tea leaves in Morawaka – Deniyaya in Matara, were killed after been struck by lightning.

Meanwhile, a mother of 3 was killed after been struck by lightning day before yesterday in the Indigaha-Wewa area.

The Disaster Management Centre stated that the number of deaths caused by adverse weather during last week has risen to 10.

Meanwhile, Duty Meteorologist Nadee Senani Rupasinghe stated that showers exceeding 100 milimeters can be expected in 4 provinces.
