India reacts cautiously to PLAN submarine visit to Sri Lanka
India has reacted cautiously to the docking of a People's Liberation Army Navy submarine in Sri Lanka from 7th to 14th September.
The Type 039 Song-class boat, on long-range deployment to escort China warships conducting anti-piracy patrols in the Gulf of Aden, docked at the Colombo International Container Terminal.
Indian Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Robindra Dhowan stated that India is continuously monitoring their deployments, and what challenges they pose for India.
Indian Navy Chief also said Indian warships, submarines, and aircraft are always ready to face any challenge.
However, Navy sources stated that the Chinese Submarine and the ship reached Colombo port for refuelling.
