The Karnataka government is not keen on lodging J. Jayalalithaa in the Bangalore Central Jail and wants to shift the former Tamil Nadu chief minister to a prison in her home state.

Jayalalithaa has been lodged in the high security city jail ever since she was convicted in the disproportionate assets case on September 27th.

Protests by AIADMK workers on the premises the Bangalore Central Jail and the Karnataka High Court have become uncontrolled in the last few days.

The developments have prompted the state government to deploy more platoons of the state reserve police to prevent any untoward incident.

Jayalalithaa is facing a four-year jail term in the assets case.
