President Mahinda Rajapakse states that although some attempt to exert undue pressure using Human Rights as a weapon, Sri lanka is not ready to give in.

President stated that a local mechanism has been implemented successfully to achieve national reconciliation.

A large group representing various associations of Sri Lankans living in Europe met President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday in Italy and extended their fullest cooperation to the President's efforts to take the country forward.

Speaking to the group, the President said Sri Lanka fought against terrorists and not against Tamil people.
