JVP yet to decide on a candidate for presidential elections
The JVP says that they are yet to decide on how they will contest if a presidential election will be held.
The chief secretary of JVP, Tilvin Silva expressed this view when we made inquiries about media reports that JVP will not nominate a candidate if President Mahinda Rajapksa decides to contest for a third term.
The media reports also noted that JVP will not support a common candidate.
Meanwhile the secretary of the Sri Lanka Young Lawyers Association Manoj Gamage said that they are no legal restrictions for President Mahinda Rajapaksa to contest for a third term.
He expressed this view during a media briefing in Colombo today.
