The department of fisheries says that 3 Sri Lankan fishing boats have been seized by Myanmar’s navy in its maritime border.

The director of the department Lal de Silva said that boats have been seized as a result of breaching the maritime border.

He noted that it has been reported that several other fishing boats too could be found near Myanmar’s maritime border due to rough seas in the area.

He further noted that he is unable to confirm whether the boats have entered Myanmar’s maritime border after getting caught to a wind storm.
