Sri Lankan Ambassador to Myanmar H.R. Piyasiri says the fishermen on board 3 Sri Lankan fishing boats which were seized by Myanmar navy are in safe hands.

The Sri Lankan fishing boats drifted into Myanmarian waters due to stormy weather last Monday while they were engaged in deep sea fishing.

Ambassador Piyasiri said that the owners of the 3 fishing boats are scheduled to visit Myanmar soon to sail back their boats.

Ambassador Piyasiri further explained to our news team about the Sri Lankan fishing boats and the affected fishermen seized by Myanmar navy.
