Another stage of the Dham Saviya programme implemented according to a concept of Colombo District MP R Duminda Silva was initiated yesterday in view of Wap full moon poya day.

Under the Dham Saviya Programme temples, churches, kovils and mosques are provided with financial assistance to renovate the religious places.

The first programme was held yesterday at the Meethotamulla – Wadugodawatta Jayasiri temple.

MP R Duminda Silva handed over a financial donation to reconstruct the Bodiya.

Monitoring chief incumbent of the Meethotamulla – Wadugodawatta jayasiri temple venerabale Ala-pala-deniye Rathana thero stated that the service carried out through the dham Saviya programme will help to protect the shasanaya.

Meanwhile, another financial donation was handed over to Padukka – Batawala – Nagas – godalla purana temple.

MP R Duminda Silva inspected a suitable location to construct the pagoda of the temple and handed over the donation.

Chief incumbent of the Padukka – Batawala – Nagas – godalla purana temple Godagama Dhamma Rathana thero thanked MP R Duminda Silva for his yeoman services.
