Minister S B visits Poramadulla Central College after his brother leaves: Police protection to the school: 2 students and a mother hospitalised.-Video
The Hanguranketha police said that protection was provided to Poramadulla Central College until it was closed after a heated situation erupted in the morning.
Meanwhile two students and a mother are receiving treatment after they were injured during a clash in the school.
The students and the parents of Poramadulla Central College in Hanguranketha staged a protest this morning against the appointment of a new principal.
The protestors charged that there are corruption and other various allegations against the new principal.
Meanwhile a group of men arrived in the scene and launched an attack on the students and the parents.
Later parents charged that the attackers were led by a brother of Minister S.B. Dissanayake and Central Provincial Council member Jayalath Dissanayake.
Our news team contacted PS member Jayalath Dissanayake to comment on the allegations against him.
Meanwhile a mother and two students who were injured in the attack are receiving treatment in Kandy General Hospital and Hanguranketha Base hospital respectively.
Later Higher education Minister S.B. Dissanayake who is also an old boy of the college arrived at the school to look into the incident.
The minister presided a meeting with regard to the incident and the students and the parents also participated in the meeting.
