The Railway Department states that they have incurred a loss of 35 million rupees due to the strike.

When our news team inquired from the Deputy Minister for Transportation Rohana Kumara Dissanayake regarding the train services, he stated that trains services to some extent have returned to normal.

Railway trade unions called off the strike at 7 this morning.

Convener of the Railway Graded Officers Trade Union Federation Jaanaka Fernando stated that the strike was called off respecting the court order.

Colombo District Magistrate Sujatha Alahapperuma who examined a petition filed by three railway commuters issued an injunction on the strikers by preventing the strike until the 24th of this month.
