JVP directly accuses Minster S B Dissanayaka regarding the assault carried out on Sabaragamuwa University students who were staging a protest at the Balangoda – Pabahinna junction.

Nalin Jayathissa, National organiser of the Socialist student union which represents the JVP addressing a media briefing stated that they vehemently condemn the assault.

However, Higher Education Minister S B Dissanayaka participating at a leadership training programme held at the Anuradapura – Thalawa Army camp stated that JVP student unions are responsible for the downfall of the University system.
