Ministers and MP's should think about the poor; says Malwathu Chief Prelate.
The Chief Prelate of the Malwathu Chapter Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera reiterated that government ministers and parliamentarians should think further about the poor before they take various decisions.
The Nayake Thera said that greater attention should be drawn on the poor people in the country.
The Nayake Thera made these comments when the Deputy Minister of Botanical Garden and Common Recreation Affairs, V. Radhakrishnan paid a courtesy call on him in Kandy this morning.
The Chief Prelate informed the deputy minister to look into the grievances of the estate people and take suitable action for their benefit.
Deputy Minister Radhakrishnan also paid a courtesy call on the Asgiri Chapter Chief Prelate Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkita Thera as well.
The Nayake Thera told the deputy minister that the leaders who realized people’s problems and work to solve them will always deserve the blessings of the Maha Sangha.
The Nayake Thera also stressed that politicians should work for the benefit of the masses irrespective of their communal, religious or any other differences.
Botanical Garden and Common Recreation Affairs Deputy Minister V. Radhakrishnan also expressed his views after paying a visit to the Chief Prelates.
