The European Union is getting ready to stop buying fish products from Sri Lanka.

It is mentioned in a communiqué issued by the EU that this decision was reached as a result of illegal fishing activities carried out by Sri Lanka.

Accordingly the EU has officially informed that it will stop buying these fish products from Sri Lanka after three months.

The income earned from the Sri Lanka’s fish product export to EU countries is 22 billion rupees.
