Certain facts of Rathana Thero's 19th amendment cannot be agreed: says JHU.
The JHU stated that the party does not agree with certain facts included in the Rathana Thera’s 19th Amendment draft proposal.
However JHU Media Spokesman Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe told our news team that it would educate the people on the current situation of the country and future polices of the party during the convention to be held on the 19th of this month at Maharagama.
A draft proposal for the 19th Amendment prepared by the national council for a clean country led by Athuraliye Rathana Thera was released for a public debate last Tuesday.
The draft has proposed amendments to several sections of the Constitution including restrict the powers of the executive president.
Presenting the 19th draft proposal, Athuraliye Rathana Thera said that holding a presidential election before making an amendment to the Constitution is unsuitable at this juncture.
