The MET Department says that the atmospheric disturbance is expected to move away from Sri Lanka today.

Thundershowers will occur at  several places in the most provinces of the island and heavy falls of about 100mm are also likely at some places.

Meanwhile, Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippilli stated that 677 families of 6 districts have been affected by the inclement weather.

Minister of Disaster Management Mahinda Amaraweera stated that steps have been taken to provide relief to those affected.
