Stones have been hurled at a group of multi day fishing boat owners while they were staging a protest in front of the fisheries ministry this morning.

The protesters said that three of their fellow protestors were injured in the incident.

The multi day fishing boat owners started the protest this morning from Maligawatte junction on several demands including the ban of foreign vessels that engaged in fishing in Sri Lanka waters.

Later the protesters who reached the Fisheries Ministry continued their demonstration.

 The protesters also charged that a group of thugs led by Minister Rajitha Senarathna staying inside the Ministry and hurled stones at them.
