A tense situation occurred at the Western Provincial Council after Chief Organizer of the Opposition presented a proposal explaining that the services relating to External Affairs have become politicized. The councilors of the opposition also attempted to snatch the Mace.
Several councilors of the ruling party left the council during the debate of the proposal presented by the Chief Organizer of the Opposition.
At that time a councilor of the ruling party informed the Deputy Chairman that the quorum has not been met. The council was postponed since the councilors did not return even after the bell was rung to summon them.
Meanwhile, the councilors of the opposition appointed a temporary chairman and conducted the session for a short time. Later they even tried to take away the Mace among the objection raised by the councilors of the ruling party who were present at the council, leading to a tense situation.
