Police commence search for child who went missing with monk in Batuwita - Horana

The police has launched a special investigation with regard to the disappearance of a 9-year old boy from Batuwita in Horana.

The police media spokesman’s office said that the police had received a complaint saying that the boy concerned had gone missing from last morning.

Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that it was suspected that a certain outside gang that come to the house had taken the boy cheating the mother.

Meanwhile the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court ordered yesterday that the child alleged to have been abducted while accompanied by the  grandmother at the Ambalangoda bus stand and deployed for begging at Dambulla, be handed over to the Galle – Kitulampitiya Children’s home.

The person from Dambulla arrested in this regard has been has been remanded.

The police recently recovered this four year old child alleged to have been abducted while accompanying the grandmother at the Ambalangoda bus stand in 2013.
