Korean Embassy condoles Koslanda landslide victims
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Sri Lanka extends its deepest condolences to the Government and people of Sri Lanka and those bereaved families affected by the recent tragic landslide in Koslanda.
The Embassy wishes that the efficient and speedy measures taken by the Government of Sri Lanka and its armed forces to rescue the distressed, treat the injured and mitigate further damage would help the people of Sri Lanka overcome this difficult time and establish normalcy in the affected areas.
Accordingly, H.E. Mr. Chang Won-sam, Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka, met with Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Disaster Management, on 1st November 2014 at the Ministry. As a contribution towards the emergency relief efforts, Ambassador Chang handed over a cheque to Hon. Minister Amaraweera in the amount of 2.23 million rupees which is profit raised from broadcasting the drama Dae-jang-geum (Sujatha Diyani) in corporation with Rupavahini Corporation.
The Korean Embassy sincerely hopes that the injured people and affected villages would be recovered and reconstructed as soon as possible.
