Negambo Fishermen stage another protest today as well.
A large number of fishermen in Negombo put ashore their boats and staged a protest today as well, claiming that their livelihood is threatened due to the sale of fish from the South in Negombo and dry-fish industry being carried out along the coastal area.
Our correspondent said that nearly 3000 fishermen from Negombo, Kuttiduwa, Kammalthota, Wella-veediya, Palangature and Eaththukala have joined the protest today.
Our correspondent Prasad Muthukuda said although Deputy Fisheries Minister Sarath Kumara Gunarathne held a discussion with the protesters, the discussion was futile.
