The Colombo High Court decided today to lift the current ban on Democratic Party Leader Sarath Fonseka from leaving the country.

The case against Fonseka for alleged indoctrination of 10 soldiers during the previous Presidential election time was taken today before Colombo High Court Judge Devika Tennakoon.

The lawyer appeared for Sarath Fonseka told the court that his client who was injured in the suicide bomb attack on the Army Headquarters needs to fly to Singapore for further treatment.

Having accepted Fonseka’s plea, the High Court Judge lifted the existing ban on Fonseka from leaving the country and permitted him to visit Singapore until the 20th of this month.

The case will be taken for hearing again on February 17th.
