Police end investigations in Haldumulla; Sarath Fonseka dump relief goods on the way. #KoslandaLandslide
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana says that police have ended the investigations to the recent landslide of Meeriyabedda at Koslanda in Haldummulla.
Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today, he said that statements from 19 persons including the Badulla District Secretary were obtained in the investigations conducted on the orders of the President.
Search operation for bodies was carried out today as well but no bodies were found during today’s operations.
The Police Media Spokesman also said 10 bodies were recovered so far and two out of them were not identified as yet.
Meanwhile Indian Deputy High commissioner A. Nadarajan visited the landslide-hit Meeriyabedda today, and later met the affected people who are currently sheltered in makeshift camps at the Ganesha and the Punagala Tamil schools.
At the same time, it is reported that a stock of relief goods brought to be distributed among the landslide victims of Meeriyabedda were dumped by Democratic Party Leader Sarath Fonseka in front of the Koslanda Tamil Vidyalaya gate.
