7 Sri Lankan refugees who were in Dubai for 2 years sent to Brazil
The last seven of the Sri Lankan refugees who were given a haven in the UAE for more than two years will leave for a new life in Brazil on Monday.
45 Sri Lankan refugees who were stranded at sea while seeking asylum in Australia in 2012 were given protection in Dubai, since the Singaporean vessel that rescued them was heading there.
Most of these refugees were given immunity in USA, Finland and Sweden while the seven individuals who were left were given sanctuary in Brazil.
The four men, two women and a child said they were happy that the UN had found them a permanent home.
