Ministers Dinesh and Champika not to participate in the meeting by Collective of National organisations. JHU decides to join Pivithuru Hetak rally.
Ministers Dinesh Gunawardana and Patalee Champika Ranawaka have decided not to participate in the meeting organized by the Collective of national Organizations at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium tomorrow.
In an advertisement on national newspapers yesterday, an open invitation was extended to Ministers Dinesh Gunawardana, Patalee Champika Ranawaka and Wimal Weerawansa to participate in the meeting.
Representing Patriotic Movement and Patriotic Bhikku Front, Dr. Kirama Wimalajothi Thera, Dr. Medagama Dhammananda Thera, Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekera and Ranjith Soyza had put their signatures in the particular advertisement.
When contacted Minister Gunawardana’s Media Secretary Lalith Rohana to comment on the minister’s participation in the meeting, he said the minister would not participate as the party did not discuss such a matter.
At the same time, JHU Spokesman Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe said that Minister Ranawaka would not participate in the meeting as a proper invitation was not extended to him.
At the same time, the National Council for a Clean Tomorrow has organized a rally at the Muttiah grounds near Gangaramaya Temple in the afternoon tomorrow.
Convener of the National Council for a Clean Tomorrow Athuraliye Rathana Thera said several major political parties including UNP, JVP, and JHU and civil organizations have been invited to this rally.
Rathana Thera also told our news team that he was unable to invite former President Chandrika Bandaranaike due to lack of time.
Meanwhile JHU Spokesman Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe said that his party has decided to participate in the meeting organized by the national council for clean tomorrow.
