External Affairs Minister G.L. Peries told in parliament today that the government does not expect to appeal against the EU court order on the lifting of LTTE sanctions.

Minister Peries stated this when his ministry appropriation was taken for debate in parliament today.

When UNP MP Lakshman Kiriella questioned whether the government would appeal against the EU court order, Minister Peries said that the government could become a party to the EU court case in the event it makes an appeal against the ruling.
