Steps were taken yesterday to evacuate 464 persons belonging to 131 families in the affected area after the disaster situation was informed to the District Secretary of Badulla.

However after a test was done in the area this morning, Landslide Research Unit director of the Building Research Institute R.M.S. Bandara told our news team the evacuated families could return to their original houses.
