Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva says that an individual doesn't have the power to abolish the Executive Presidency.

While addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today, the minister added that due to this reason there is no point in presenting a common candidate for the presidential election with the motive of abolishing the Executive Presidency.

The Minister further said that none of the factions who talk about abolishing Executive Presidency have presented facts to the parliamentary Select Committee thus far.

Speaking further during the media briefing, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva elaborated on his views regarding the common candidate.
