Update : Driver of the parked lorry which was hit by Uva Chief Minister's Back-up vehicle in Buttala arrested.

Police arrested the driver of the lorry after a motor vehicle carrying security officers of Uva Chief Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa collided with a lorry parked by the side of the road in Mahagoda-yaaya, Buttala.

According to the hospital sources, the condition of a police constable who is among the 4 injured persons is critical.

He has been transferred to Badulla General Hospital from Sirigala Hospital, Moneragala.

3 persons died including 2 police officers following the motor accident which occurred at 1.30 this morning.
