2 doubts for the UNP.
Chief Whip of the Opposition MP John Amaratunga told the parliament today that the UNP has a doubt on two factors.
Prior to the debate, opposition chief whip John Amaratunga questioned the Leader of the house Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva why the decision of the Supreme court regarding the President contesting for the 3rd term is not presented to the house.
Leader of the house replied that according to the constitution, the president has the capability to inquire an opinion from the supreme courts, and their opinion will be informed to the president.
However, they are not obligated to present this opinion to the parliament.
He added that he has precisely conveyed the opinion of the Supreme Court to the parliament and inquired if there was any mistake?
The Chief Opposition Whip replied that he doubts if such an opinion was received by the house
Again Minister Nimal Siripala said that, certain persons have a psychological disorder of having an eternal doubt no matter how many times a matter is explained
And added that he is aware of this since he has served as the Health Minister previously
The chief whip of the opposition responded once again saying that the Prime Minister seems to be absent more often, and that he's having a doubt regarding this matter as well.
Next MP John Amaratunga told the speaker to obtain the decision from the brother and present it to the parliament.
In response, the speaker said that he doesn't meet him these days
