UPFA MP Wasantha Senanayake defected and joined UNP today.

MP Wasantha Senanayake was a member of SLFP and elected as a UPFA MP from the Gampaha district.

Senanayake secured 51 thousand 124 preferential votes in the general election 2010, and placed on the 10th position of the preferential list.

He is also the chief organizer of the Mirigama electorate, and a great grandson of Sri Lanka’s first Prime Minister D.S. Senanayake.

MP Wasantha Senanayake expressed the reasons to quit the government during a media briefing held at UNP Headquarters Sirikotha.
