Chandrika, Rajitha, Arjuna, Rajeeva, M K D S and Dumindha Dissanayaka join Maithripala
Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Ministers Dumindha Dissanayake, Rajitha Senarathna, Deputy Minister N.K.A.D.S. Gunawardana, MPs Rajiva Wijesinghe, Arjuna Ranatunga and Wasantha Senanayake also participated in the media briefing.
Addressing the media, Minister Sirisena said the country walked in a wrong direction after the war victory.
He also said that he was compelled to face various callousness as the minister of health.
Minister Sirisena also said that the executive presidency would be abolished within 100 days from the date of his victory and the Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe will be made Prime Minister of the country.
He requested the Elections Commissioner, IGP and the chiefs of the three forces to be committed towards holding a free and fair election.
He also expressed his gratitude towards all political parties who acted to select him as the common candidate
Minister Rajitha Senarathne stated that several MPs of the ruling party will be joining to support the common candidate.
Later, an opportunity was given for the reporters to voice their questions where Minister Maithreepala Sirisena provided answers for them.
