Final voting on the budget today; UNP and JVP will oppose it.
The voting on the last reading of the budget is scheduled to be held this afternoon.
While the second reading of the budget was held on November 1st, it was passed in parliament by a majority of 100 votes.
At this voting while 157 voted for the budget, only 57 voted against it.
The UNP, TNA and DNA voted against the budget.
UNP media spokesman MP Gayantha Karunatilake told our news team that his party would vote against the budget at the final voting on the budget held today.
DNA MP Sunil Handunetti said that his party would vote against the budget at today’s voting.
TNA media spokesman MP Suresh Premachandran told our news team that the TNA too would vote against the budget.
Meanwhile SLMC chairman Baseer Segudaavut said that the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress would vote FOR the budget.
The JHU which refrained from voting at the second reading of the budget, has decided to refrain from voting today as well.
