Solution from the President to the problem between Negombo's fishermen and dry fish producers.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the Fisheries Corporation to buy the Negombo Coastal Belt fishermen’s fish products under a timely and stable price.
These instructions were given at a discussion held with the President at the chair held yesterday with regard to the problem that had cropped up between Negombo fishermen and dry fish producers.
Presidential media division said that Negombo, Chilaw, Kalutara and Beruwala Fishermen’s union representatives had participated in this discussion held at Temple Trees.
The Presidential Media Division said further that in addition His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, parish priests and Fisheries and Water Resources Ministry Secretary too participated in the discussion.
The communiqué issued by the Presidential Media Division said further that in addition while the President’s attention was drawn at this discussion to several other problems affecting the fishermen, the President gave necessary instructions with regard to those problems.
