Election Commissioner says he is not scared of the government.

Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya says that the election related violence should be investigated by the police chiefs in charge of those particular areas.

Addressing a media briefing held at the Election Secretariat, the Election Commissioner said his department only can guide police with regard to election related violence complaints.

He also said those who fail to cast their votes on December 23rd and 24th, can do so on December 30th at District Secretariats in the areas.

Answering journalists, the Election Commissioner said that he is not scared of the government.

Meanwhile two political parties have already deposited cash bonds for the forthcoming presidential election.

Okkoma Vesiyo Okkoma Rajavaru party deposited cash bonds today and Janasetha Peramuna deposited cash bonds yesterday.
