President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal this morning ahead of the 18th SAARC Summit that is taking place in Kathmandu.

Soon after arrival, President Rajapaksa departed for Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha.

At Lumbini, the President will participate in a number of activities that includes visiting the Maya Devi and Sri Lankaramaya Temples, the Buddhist University and the Dutugemunu Pilgrims Rest, among others.

The SAARC Summit will begin tomorrow when the inaugural session will take place.
