The provincial council meeting sessions of Uva and North Central provinces have been postponed until the conclusion of the presidential election.

During today’s Uva provincial council meeting, it was proposed to adjourn the next meeting until the 15th of January, and it was passed with 6 majority votes.

UNP and JVP councillors voiced their objection to adjourn the meeting, which was to be held in December.

However, during the vote taking regarding the matter, 17 voted in favour and 11 voted against it.

Meanwhile, Uva Provincial Council Chief Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa and 19 UPFA councillors attended a media briefing convened in Moneragala today.
