The motor vehicle involved in the shooting of a former UNP divisional councillor at Maggona apprehended. Owner is a Kaluthara UPFA divisional councillor.
The motor vehicle involved in the shooting carried out on former UNP Divisional Councilor Chamila Ranasinghe on the 21st has been apprehended.
The shooting took place on the day of announcement of Common Candidate Maitripala Sirisena’s presidential candidature, when the victim was engaged in lighting crackers in the Kalutara – Maggona town for celebrating the announcement,
The police said that the former Divisional Councillor seriously wounded due to the shooting was still receiving treatment at the National Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
Police Media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that while the motor vehicle used for the incident was identified and apprehended yesterday, its owner too had been by now identified.
