Muslim congress to decide after the 10th regarding which candidate to support during the presidential election.
SLMC stated that they will take a decision after the 10th of December regarding which candidate to support during the upcoming presidential election.
The National Organizer of the party Shafeek Rajabdeen told our news team that his party will be concerned about the manifesto of the Common Candidate Maithreepala Sirisena which will be launched on the 10th of next month.
A special meeting was held under the patronage of SLMC leader Minister Rauf Hakeem and the senior members of the party in Colombo last evening.
During the meeting it was decided to offer their support to a presidential candidate, after considering the facts stated in the manifesto of the Common Candidate Maithreepala Sirisena.
Meanwhile, All Ceylon People’s Congress has not taken a decision regarding whether to accept the vacant MP seat or not after MP A.H.M. Aswer – who was appointed through the national list - resigned from his position.
It is reported that the name of Eastern provincial councilor Ameer Ali representing All Ceylon People’s Congress has been nominated for the vacant MP position.
According to the party’s General Secretary Y.L.S. Hameed, a special meeting is to be held in Batticaloa tomorrow under the patronage of the party’s leader Rishard Badi-udeen.
He added that the party’s senior leaders as well as the representatives of Eastern province will attend the meeting, where the decision is to be taken.
