The first rally of the Common Candidate, Maithripala Sirisena kicked off in Pollonnaruwa.

According to our correspondent a large gathering is present and Common Candidate Maithripala Sirseana was warmly welcomed by the crowd.

Before attending the rally, Maithripala Sirisena paid floral tributes to D S Senanayaka Statue near Prakrama Samurdaya and Bandaranayaka statue in the Pollonnaruwa city.

Subsequently Maithripala Sirisena paid homage to the Polonnaruwa Galviharaya and obtained blessings from the Maha Sanga.

National Leader of the UNP, Ranil Wickramasingha, Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa, General Secretary Thissa Aththanayaka and many UNP MP’s joined the rally.

Meanwhile, JHU Chairman Venerable Athuraliye Rathana thero, former Minister Rajitha Senarathna and Mawu0bima Janatha Party leader Hemakumara Nanayakkara also joined the Rally.

Former Minister Rajitha Senarathna stated that several members of the alliance government are set to join him in the future.

Addressing the Rally Common Candidate, Maithripala Sirisena stated that he did not go against the President and he is only against the existing system.
