Former Minister Navin Dissanayake revealed today that he was offered 100 million rupees by the government to prevent him from leaving the government.

He said the offer was made once the government learnt that he had decided to support common candidate Maithreepala Sirisena.

Answering a journalist at the media briefing held at the Opposition Leader’s Office, former Minister Dissanayake disclosed the government’s fruitless efforts to prevent cross over attempts.

Addressing the media, former minister Dissanayake expressed his views about the corruption and other irregularities taking place in spending Chinese loans on development projects.

He said that massive rackets have been taken place in road asphalting projects carried out with the loans granted by Chinese Exim Bank.

UNP National Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe as well as common candidate Maithreepala Sirisena participated in this media conference.

Meanwhile Uva Provincial Council Opposition Leader Harin Fernando said that a power change of the Uva Provincial Council could be expected at this weekend.

Addressing a media briefing held at UNP Headquarters Sirikotha today, Fernando expressed his views about the MPs who defect the ruling UPFA to support the common candidate.
