Common Candidate Maithreepala Sirisena said that soon after he is elected as the President, he would take action to re-instate positions and other benefits enjoyed by former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka.
Answering Democratic Party Western Provincial Councilor and Attorney-at-law Aruna Deepal, common candidate Maithreepala Sirisena assured to re-instate Sarath Fonseka with his rank and medals that were stripped off.
Common candidate Maithreepala Sirisena also recalled an incident he faced at the ceremony to lay the foundation for the proposed SLFP Headquarters at Battaramulla during the regime of Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.
The media briefing was organized by Democratic Party to announce its decision to support the common candidate in the forthcoming Presidential election.
