Joint trade union alliance pledges to make Presidents victory a resounding one.
The Joint Trade Union Federation gave a pledge yesterday to commit themselves to achieve a resounding victory for President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the forthcoming Presidential election.
Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaye’s Secretary Lesley Devendra has handed over the President a set of proposals with regard to their pledge.
The President and the representatives of the Joint Trade Union Federation met at the BMICH yesterday.
Representatives of the Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya and other members of the Federation including private sector trade unions participated in the meeting yesterday.
The President has told this meeting that the present government which worked for the village, city and the entire country would win the presidential election.
He said certain parties have implemented mud-slinging politics but it would not be a decent way of campaigning.
He also said that all should rally to protect the dignity of the country.
