President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that all should get together to build the country while protecting the facilities provided to the masses.
The President expressed these views while participating in the Government Family Health Service Officers’ Annual Conference held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium today.
He also said that there is no country in the world except Sri Lanka where all health services are provided to the people free of charge.
Meanwhile the Joint Trade Union Federation gave a pledge yesterday to commit themselves to achieve a resounding victory for President Mahinda Rajapaksa in the forthcoming Presidential election.
They made the pledge during a meeting with the President held at the BMICH yesterday.
Representatives of the Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya and other members of the Federation including private sector trade unions participated in the meeting.
Addressing the trade unionists, President Rajapaksa said all should be vigilant on the local and foreign elements being operated against the country.
Meanwhile President’s Spokesman Mohan Samaranayake stated that President Mahinda Rajapaksa left for India this afternoon on a private tour.
