A board of investigators has been appointed to probe the plane crash of AN-32 belonging to Sri Lanka Air force at Athurugiriya in Hokandara this morning.
Addressing a media conference in Colombo, Staff Officer Air Vice Marshal Gagan Bulathsinhala said that the investigation will be led by Air Commodore Ravi Jayasinghe on the directive of the Air force Commander.
The ill-fated Aircraft was taken off from Katunayake Air force camp at 6.10 this morning to be stationed at Ratmalana Air force camp.
The Air force stated that the pilot, his co-pilot, an engineer, a corporal and an airman were on board at the time of the take-off.
The communication with the moving aircraft had been lost when it was flying over Hokandara area.
