104 foreign observers are scheduled to arrive in the island to monitor the forthcoming Presidential election.

A Senior Spokesperson of the Election Secretariat stated that 35 officials of the South Asian Election Observers Collective and 25 officials of the South Asian Election Observers Association have been officially invited.

7 Commonwealth Election observers have also been invited but 9 are expected to arrive.

The PAFFEREL Organization has meanwhile, invited 35 observers from the Asian Election Monitoring network to the island, in view of the Presidential election.

European Union representatives have not been invited to monitor the election as Sri Lanka is not a member nation of the Union.
