JVP leader states that they commenced the struggle against Democracy

Leader of the JVP, Anura Kumara Dissanayaka states that it the JVP that initiated that struggle to achieve democracy and stated that the country is controlled by a certain faction.

He made this statement addressing a meeting held in Piliyandala yesterday.

Addressing a rally in Hambanthota Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that President Mahinda Rajapakse is a practical leader.

Meanwhile UNP MP Harsha De Silva states that the government is indirectly taxing the public heavily.

Health Minister Thissa Aththanayaka speaking during a meeting held in Panadura yesterday stated that a Maithree governance cannot rescue the UNP.

JHU Secretary Patali Champika Ranawaka states that the government charge 80 rupees from a litre of petrol and 135 rupees from a packet of milk.

Addressing a book launch yesterday Patali Champika stated that economic growth of the public is less than one percent.

UPFA General Secretary, Minister Susil Premajayantha states that although former SLFP General Secretary Maithripala Sirisena quit the government, the public is with the SLFP.
